The great-grandfather of founder Erich Haslwanter was a trained master ropemaker. As the name Haslwanter is very common in Tyrol, this is the origin of the house name Seiler. As early as the 1950s, the Espresso Seiler in Silz was a popular meeting place for locals and anyone passing through between Vienna and Paris.
